Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 8 oz lo mein noodles
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for marinating the beef)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
- Optional: sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, chili flakes for spice
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Cook the Noodles: Boil the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.
- Blanch the Broccoli: Boil the broccoli in a pot of water for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the broccoli to the pan with the beef. Pour in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and sugar. Stir to combine.
- Add Noodles: Toss the cooked noodles into the pan, ensuring everything is well-coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with tofu or mushrooms.
